Seacoast Softball Coaches


Dennis Bruce

Dennis brings over 20 years of softball coaching experience and over 700 career wins to his teams.  He is a multi-year Hurricanes coach and the Head Coach for the Winnacunnet High School varsity softball team.  He was named New Hampshire Softball Coach of the Year in 2012.  Dennis was the former Seacoast Breakers owner, president and coach with his teams earning numerous tournament titles and State Championships.  His 10u team of 2013 finished with a 47-3-1 record and a 4th place finish at the ASA Nationals.   As a Hurricanes coach his record includes 3 State Championships, 2 New England Pony Regional Championships,  5th place in the ASA Nationals and 5th place in the Pony Nationals.  His current record as a Hurricane Coach stands at 263-23-4.

Many of Dennis’ former players have gone on to play collegiate sports.  Dennis is our  Seacoast Director of Softball Instruction and also one of our premiere  hitting coaches providing lessons at the Salisbury Play Ball facility.

Mollie Watson

Mollie Watson is entering her third year as a Hurricanes head coach and is the Softball Director for the seacoast location. She played eight years of ASA softball, with several of them being under Hurricanes Gold National coach, Dennis Bruce. Mollie was a four-year varsity starting catcher at Rockport High School, and was recruited to play at several colleges and universities. She earned an undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education at Southern New Hampshire University in 2018, and is currently in graduate school at Endicott College. In 2017, she led her 10u team to four finals, including a second place finish in the NH State tournament, accumulating a season record of 31-10. In 2018, she led her 12u team to four finals, accumulating a season record of 32-9. Mollie serves as a softball instructor at the seacoast location for catching, fielding, and hitting, and leads the speed and agility program. In 2018, Mollie was an assistant varsity softball coach for Division I Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, NH, helping the team achieve a 17-3 record. In addition to softball, Mollie was a middle school girls' basketball head coach for three seasons.


Jason McLaren

Jason brings six years of coaching experience to the program. He emphasizes good communication, fundamentals, and having high quality practices. Specific coaching experience includes:

  • 2015 club team went 30-8 and won district, and state championships and placed 4th in New England regionals.
  • 2016 club team went 36-1 going undefeated through district, state and New England regionals as they went on to the win the title.
  • After winning New England regionals, took the team to the World Series where they went 5-3 and placed 5th in the country.
